Our CNS (Certified Nurse Specialist) Course offers programs that are designed in accordance with the educational curriculum for CNS of Japan Association of Nursing Programs in Uni-versities.Building on the basic and specialized courses, students will complete and present their masterʼs thesis regarding the research topic they selected. Students of all degree levels are required to earn 8 credits (excluding CNS course). Research requires awareness, idea, method and practice of themes beyond specific professions. Therefore we offer cross-sectional research fields ("Department of Public Health Social Welfare Policy", "Department of Applied Health and Life Sciences" and "Basic Research and Practical Technologies") in consideration of the various range of subjects and locations of practice and research.Diploma PolicyA Masterʼs degree is awarded to students who have earned credits specified by the Aomori Uni-versity of Health and Welfare regulation, and those who passed the final review of their thesis. They are considered to have acquired the ability to analyze, both scientifically and theoretically, various themes relating to health, medical care and welfare, and share this knowledge with society. To complete the CNS course, students must pass the final review and to be considered to have acquired the knowledge and skill of highly specialized professionals. Basic SubjectsWe offer〈Basic Subjects for General Science〉, which include courses taken by students across all fields of expertise, such as research ethics, and 〈Basic Subjects for Specialized Research〉, which include courses specializing mainly in nursing science and social welfare studies.We offer courses which serve as a foundation for various practical and learning system relating to health science, such as life science/physiology and epidemiology/statistics. We also offer health literacy courses to serve as a foundation to promote behavior modification for a more healthy lifestyle within the community. These courses are mainly taken in the first year, and serve as a foundation for taking specialized courses and planning/carrying out special research.Specialized SubjectsWe have put together our specialized courses as "modules" so that students who specialize in community health, social welfare, nursing, physical therapy or nutrition can further develop their expertise and promote practice and research beyond their specialized fields and professions. The Master Course of Nursing and the Master Course of Social Welfare require students to obtain a certain amount of credits from the corresponding module. Although we offer a list of suggested courses for Master of Health Sciences, basically students are able to select courses based on their own academic goals.
