Admission Guidelines for working members of society1 AimWith the rapid development of medical science and medical treatment, the development of human resources withthe special ability, knowledge, and technique of more advanced medical science and medical treatment is sociallyrequested.Our Graduate School introduces the Day/Evening lecture course system based on the special divisions oneducation methods by Article 14 of the Standards Act for Establishment of Graduate School and conducts theselection for a working member who is active in the field connected with medical science and medical treatment inlocal society in order to give him/her an opportunity to learn the ability, knowledge, and technique of advancedmedical science and medical treatment.2 Number of Students to be Admitted The number of the students to be admitted for the selection for working members of society is included in thenumber of students to be admitted described in the Admission Guidelines for general selection.Note: When applying, inquire of the supervisor of the desired major field (see page 55) about research andguidance, etc.3 Qualifications for Application A person who can apply for admission shall fall under any of the following, and who has been working for ahospital, a clinic, a research institute, an educational institution, or a health center etc. on applying. Furthermore,after entering our graduate school, he/she shall retain his/her status with the excellent work performance and beapproved to take entrance examination and attend school by the supervisor or appointer of the workplace.aA person who has graduated from a university (which has a course in medical science or dental science, or a 6-year course in pharmaceutical science or veterinary science).sA person who completed an 18-year course (its final course has to be the course in medical science, dentalscience, pharmaceutical science, or veterinary science) of school education in a foreign country.dA person who completed an 18-year course (its final course has to be the course in medical science, dentalscience, pharmaceutical science, or veterinary science) in a foreign country’s school education by taking classsubjects in Japan through correspondence courses run by the said foreign educational establishments.fA person who completed a foreign country’s university course at an educational institution in Japan (limited tothe person who has completed an 18-year course of school education (including the doctoral course to studymedical science, dental science, pharmaceutical science, or veterinary science) in the said foreign country’sschool education) which is designated in the said foreign country’s education system as having a foreignuniversity’s curriculum and specifically designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science andTechnology, Japan.gA person who has completed five or more years of study ( the course in medical science, dental science,pharmaceutical science, or veterinary science)at a foreign university, or foreign educational establishment(including a person who, while residing in Japan, has completed the program of education provided by a foreignuniversity or foreign educational establishment through correspondence or distance education courses) and whoreceived a degree certificate by March 2018 that is recognized by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture,Sports, Science and Technology.hA person designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan.(Notification No. 39 of the Ministry of Education, 1955)(Note) The designated person above refers to a person who falls under any of the following provisions:A person who completed medical science or dental science at the faculty of medicine or dentistry of auniversity under the old University Ordinance (Imperial Ordinance No. 388 of 1918), and who graduated fromthese faculties. A person who graduated from National Defense Medical College under the Act for Establishment of theMinistry of Defense (Act No. 164 of 1954) A person who completed a master’s course, a person who can be awarded a master’s degree, or a personwho had been enrolled in the doctoral course without dividing the course between 2 years’first semester and 3years’second semester for 2 years or longer acquiring 30 credits or more under the necessary researchguidance (including a person who falls under Article 6-1 of the Degree regulations (Ordinance of the Ministryof Education, Science, Culture No. 9 of 1953) prior to version by Ministerial Ordinance (Ordinance of theMinistry of Education, Science, Culture No. 29 of 1974) that revises part of the Degree regulations), in additionto the above-described premises, a person who has been recognized by our Graduate School as havingacademic ability equivalent or superior to a university graduate who has completed the course to studymedical science, dental science, pharmaceutical science, or veterinary science. A person who graduated from a university (excluding the course to study medical science or dental science,or a 6-year course in pharmaceutical science or veterinary science), or a person who has been engaged inresearch for 2 years or longer at university or institute, etc. after having completed 16 years of a schooleducation in a foreign country (including a person who will engage in research for 2 years or longer by March31, 2018), in addition to the above-described premises, a person who has been recognized by our Graduate-150-
