I obtained my bachelor's and master's degrees in Neurosurgery from China Medical University. During my study in China, I majored in neuroendoscope under the guidance of my professor. There is a high number of surgeries in China hospitals, providing us with enough opportunities to acquire clinical knowledge. However, there are relatively fewer opportunities in basic research aspects. Therefore, I hope to conduct valuable neurosurgery research with the advanced experimental equipment at Hamamatsu University School of Medicine. And I also want to know about the advanced techniques used in Japanese Neurosurgery. I was impressed by the use of advanced instruments such as exoscope in the hospital's operating room. I hope that in the future, China will also have the opportunity to use such excellent instruments.Why did you choose Hamamatsu University School of Medicine?Hamamatsu University School of Medicine has a long-standing friendly relationship with China Medical University. One of my professors graduated from here, and based on his recommendation, I am honored to further my study at HUSM, and I am also deeply indebted to Professor Kurozumi Kazuhiko for his willingness to guide my research.On the other hand, Japanese culture also deeply fascinates me. Japanese design and art are renowned worldwide. Hamamatsu's excellent geographical location provides me with the opportunity to visit famous design exhibitions on weekends and get inspiration from them.Is there anything else you would like to share with us? (What is your personal interest?)My personal interest is medical illustration. Driven by a passion for both medicine and art, I have devoted my spare time to learning about medical illustration. In this age of new media, communication between doctors and patients has become easier than before. A good medical illustration can help doctors to explain diseases and treatment processes better. Additionally, medical illustrations are used a lot in research papers. Therefore, my personal interest have also provided convenience to my work and studies.Since arriving in Japan, I have participated in conferences organized by the Japanese Society of Medical Illustration(日本メディカルイラストレーション学会) and Japanese Society of Artistic Anatomy(美術解剖学会), where I've come to realize that there are numerous doctors and artists in Japan who also have interest in medical illustration. I sincerely hope that Japan and China can enhance communication and mutual learning in this field.日本に来る前はどこで何を勉強していましたか？ 私は中国東北部の都市、瀋陽出身です。中国医科大学で脳神経外科の学士号と修士号を取得しました。中国では、神経内視鏡を専攻し、教授の指導の下で学びました。中国の病院では手術件数が多く、臨床的な知識を習得するのに十分な機会があります。しかし、その一方で基礎研究の機会は少ないのが現状です。そのため、私は浜松医科大学の先進的な実験設備を使って脳神経外科学における有益な研究を行いたいと思っています。また、日本の脳神経外科で用いられている高度な技術を学びたいです。本学の病院の手術室では、外視鏡(exoscope)などの先進的な器具が使われていることに感銘を受けました。将来、中国でもこのような優れた器具を使う機会があることを願っています。なぜ浜松医科大学を選びましたか？ 浜松医科大学は中国医科大学と長年の友好関係にあり、中国での私の指導教員の一人は浜松医科大学の卒業生です。その教授の推薦もあって、こうして浜松医科大学で更なる研究ができることを光栄に思います。また、私の研究指導を快く引き受けてくださった黒住和彦教授にも深く感謝しています。 また、私は日本文化にも深く魅了されています。日本のデザインや芸術は世界的に有名です。浜松は地理的に恵まれているため、週末には有名なデザイン展を訪れ、そこからインスピレーションを得ています。趣味は何ですか？ 私の趣味はメディカルイラストレーションです。医療とアートの両方への情熱に突き動かされ、余暇をメディカルイラストレーションの学習に充てています。新しいメディアが発達した今、医師と患者の間のコミュニケーションは以前よりも容易になりました。優れたメディカルイラストレーションは、医師が病気や治療過程をより分かりやすく説明するのに役立ちます。さらに、メディカルイラストレーションは研究論文でもよく使われます。そのため、私の趣味は、仕事や研究にも役立っています。 日本に来てから、日本メディカルイラストレーション学会と日本美術解剖学会が主催する学会に参加しました。 そこで、日本にもメディカルイラストレーションに関心を持つ医師やアーティストが数多くいることを知りました。日中両国がこの分野での交流を深め、相互学習できることを心から願っています。Speech in conference organizedby the Japanese Society of Medical Illustration日本メディカルイラストレーション学会主催の学会にてスピーチ大学院医学系研究科医学専攻（博士課程） 2年 脳神経外科学講座（劉 祉彤）中国InternationalStudentIntroductionStudying abroad at Hamamatsu University School of Medicine:An unforgettable journey in my life浜松医科大学への留学：人生で忘れられない旅24Liu Zhitong
