Those who successfully complete this program will receive a Master of Laws degree. Our curriculum incorporates opportunities to gain both the legal and a theoretical of through thesis writing and practical knowledge of law’s implementation through the international and domestic fieldwork and case studies. International Law course provides collective tutoring through seminars presided over by all faculty members; whereas the Law and Development program studies the dynamic process of law and institutions of The frequency of warfare has escalated and populist governments have emerged causing profound disquiet within the international community.In contemplating the contemporary global landscape, it is imperative to acknowledge the prevailing nature of sovereign states within the international community. The intricacies and nuances inherent in the domestic contexts of each nation invariably complicate the formulation of effective solutions to the myriad of international global challenges confronting community. In light of these challenges, the Political Science and Area Studies Program has been designed to select specific countries and regions for in-depth study, with a focus on understandingtheir internal affairs through two distinct political methodologies: science and area studies.Graduate School of International Cooperation Studies (GSICS) 8国際法・開発法学プログラム政治・地域研究プログラム本プログラムは、修士（法学）または（国際学）の学位を取得して、法的思考を駆使して国際社会や地域社会で生じる社会制度的課題を実践的に解決できる専門家を養成します。修士論文に向けたきめ細かい個別指導はもちろん、英語授業や海外実習、事例研究やフィールドワークをカリキュラムに取り込み、留学生と共に学ぶ機会を積極的に創設し、実践的な英語力や海外経験をつみながら、法的思考の涵養に取り組みます。国際法は、担当教員全員で連携し集団的に教育を行うこと、開発法は、対象国の法制度を内側から探求する比 較 法的アプローチが特徴です。ロシア・ウクライナ戦争をはじめとする戦争の頻発。世界各地でトランプ政権をはじめとするポピュリズム政権も台頭し、国際社会は緊迫の度をますます増しています。この様な現在の世界の状況を考える上で重要なのは、国際社会が依然として主権国家単位で構成されている事であり、各国の国内的状況を踏まえなければ、多くの問題への対処策を考える事が困難だ、という事です。政治・地域学研究プログラムは、この様な視点から特定の国家や地域を選択し、その内情について、政治学と地域研究という二つの方法により「深く」学び理解する事を目標にしています。
