This overseas practicum is part of students’ academic training and involves field research conducted under faculty supervision. It is an accredited GSICS course and carries two academic credits.I participated in the program because the opportunity to learn about and discuss research unique to the location was particularly attractive, allowing me to deepen my insights for future research. During the program, I co-organized a research exchange workshop for early career researchers and students. In addition, attending research presentations and visiting the Secretariat of CCAMLR expanded my perspectives. I would like to utilize this experience for my PhD by continuing to develop my research through international and interdisciplinary collaboration.Through fieldwork and training at research and international institutions, students collect specialized knowledge and data to advance their doctoral research. This is part of the GSICS curriculum and carries two academic credits.Based at the University of Dhaka in Bangladesh, I carried out an advanced overseas research to deepen the understanding of quantitative findings obtained prior to the fieldwork. I visited pre-primary schools in and around Dhaka, conducting classroom observations and interviews with teachers. Insights gained from this field research helped integrate research findings, contributed to revising the overarching narrative of the dissertation, and provided critical implications for the discussion section.
