Educational MissionThe Optics and Bio Design Program is a fusion of two of Utsunomiya University's core research themes: optical engineering and molecular agriculture.Students in this Program will be able to contribute to the development of a sustainable society as engineers or researchers who will play a leading role in the development of cutting-edge fields by conducting a wide variety of research, such as using optical technologies to visualize microbiology, and applying big data to gene analysis.Educational MissionThis program focuses on Kansei engineering and robotics, which are strengths of the university, while also including research in the fields of materials, environment, electrical and electronic engineering, information technology, machinery, architecture, and urban development in the region and society. We aim to train engineers who understand everything from basic research to the transfer of technology to society, and who can use their broad education to for cross-disciplinary innovation.Educational MissionDrawing on the university's expertise in regional design and adapting to multiple cultures, the Program will foster graduates who pursue sustainable development in accordance with globalization and help create a prosperous and peaceful society as leaders in Japan and abroad. They will understand the current status and background of international cooperation, development, governance, and the formation of regional communities from a broad interdisciplinary perspective regardless of the size and scope of the phenomenon. They will acquire expertise for designing social groups that comprise various cultures and regional communities, institutions, spaces, and systems.
